Salary: $15.00 - $17.00 Hourly Location : Parks & Rec Dick Eardley Boise Senior Center, Boise, ID Job Type: Temporary Job Number: 23 -07602 Department: Parks & Recreation Division: Senior Community Center Opening Date: 05/19/2026 Closing Date: 6/2/2026 12:00 PM Mountain Summary Statement Provide oversight and monitor activities at the Dick Eardley Senior Center to support safe, organized, and welcoming operations. This position is open to applicants age 18 and older and works up to 19 hours per week. Essential Functions Uses software to process registrations for a variety of recreational programs. Conveys information regarding class details and scholarships. Accurately performs cash handling duties while operating a point of sale system to process fees and reconciliation. Provides customer service and answers questions about programs for all guests and assists with program registration. Supports program coordinators with a variety of tasks, including room reservations, class cancellations, refunds, class roster printing, room set up and clean up. Sets up/takes down equipment as needed and any other specific projects as assigned. Oversees and monitors activities to ensure a safe environment for patrons and staff. Performs light janitorial tasks and opens/closes building. Evening/weekend building supervisor. Requirements Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training One year of experience working with the general public, answering phones and handling cash. Working knowledge of: Customer service techniques. Cash handling procedures. Basic addition and subtraction. Ability to: Interact with the general public and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner. Provide a high level of customer service. Display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of city employees, the general public and other organizations. Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance. Complete assignments in a timely fashion. Understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations. Maintain prompt and regular attendance. Perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation. Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training One year of experience in customer service. This position works: occasional evenings and weekends 19-Hour Temporary All temporary part-time employees working less than an average of 19-hours per week are not currently eligible for benefits. 4-Month Temporary All 4-month temporary employees working an average of 40-hours per week will accrue personal leave which can be used during employment. 8-Month Seasonal In addition to accruing personal leave, anyone in an 8-month seasonal position working over an average of 30-hours per week is eligible for medical coverage. 9-Month Temporary In addition to personal leave accrual and medical coverage, a position that is classified as a 9-month temporary is eligible for PERSI retirement benefits.
