Gotham Enterprises Ltd is seeking a dedicated, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to join our dynamic team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This full-time remote position offers a unique opportunity to work with children and teenagers facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges, providing essential therapeutic support through intensive in-community services. Work Environment
This role is uniquely designed for a remote work setting that emphasizes flexibility while also utilizing our outpatient office resources. As a member of our team, you will engage in virtual therapy sessions as well as conduct in-person therapy when necessary, allowing you to provide personalized care that fits within the lives of your clients and encourages ease of access to services within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct individualized therapy sessions, either in-home or via our outpatient center, to address the unique psychological needs of children and adolescents.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on the development of anger management, coping strategies, and social skills.
- Work proactively to mitigate high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior or physical aggression, by implementing constructive therapeutic techniques.
- Enhance decision-making skills in both youth and their caregivers to better manage behavioral challenges in the home environment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team, as well as external professionals, to ensure a cohesive support network for your clients.
- Complete all documentation required by the organization, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, within designated time frames.
- Participate in monthly meetings with your team to share insights, discuss cases, and offer recommendations for continuous improvement.
Patient Population / Client Focus
We primarily serve children aged 3 to 20 who experience developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Our clients come from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, and our goal is to deliver inclusive, culturally competent therapy that meets their individual needs. By working with this population, you will have the opportunity to effectuate profound and lasting change in their lives, providing support to both the children and their families.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.
- An active and unrestricted License as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is mandatory.
- Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, with sessions primarily scheduled during after-school hours (4-7 pm) and potential weekend flexibility.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary for meeting clients in various locations.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check, inclusive of fingerprinting, is required.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in providing positive behavior support and therapeutic services to children and families.
- Experience working with youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), and familiarity with interventions tailored to this demographic.
- Familiarity with therapeutic methods and frameworks that are culturally competent and trauma-informed.
Compensation and Benefits
