TEMP-Lab/Research Support (School of Computer Science)

Job Summary Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory to include performing analyses; setting up, operating, maintaining and cleaning equipment; and maintaining a stock of supplies. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. The position will interact on a consistent basis with academic and/or research faculty members, staff, and students, advise and counsel lab users, and the position will not supervise anyone. Responsibilities Setup, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in performing lab tests and experiments. Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records. Setup laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations. May clean instruments, glassware and other lab equipment. Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests. Perform other duties as assigned. Educational Requirements High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma. Preferred Education BS and MS in computer science preferred. Preferred Experience 2‑3 years in front‑end development. Back‑end development experience preferred but not required. Pay Information FLSA status: Non‑Exempt Hourly Pay Range: $0.00 – $40.00 Skills Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: This job requires working knowledge in the use of instrumentation and other lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures specific to the assigned lab. Skills in inventory management and the use of specialized computer applications are required. Additional Requirements Strong experience with React and Redux. Demonstrated ability to implement and manage complex application state. Proficiency with GitHub. Experience collaborating closely with UX Designers.
