Job Title: Saw Operator / Material Handler

Job Description

This role combines saw operation and material handling in a clean, organized, and climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will spend roughly half of your time operating a saw to cut material and the other half operating a sit-down forklift to move in-process material between workstations. This position is ideal for individuals with entry-level manufacturing experience who want to build their skills in machine operation, material handling, and basic inspection while following established safety and documentation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate a saw to cut material according to production requirements and basic prints.
• Handle in-process material throughout the shop, ensuring timely movement to the appropriate stations.
• Operate a sit-down forklift safely to transport materials within the facility.
• Read and interpret basic prints to understand cutting and handling requirements.
• Use basic inspection tools to verify measurements and quality of cut material as directed.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain proper documentation throughout the production process.
• Support general production and manufacturing activities as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in alignment with facility standards.
• Collaborate with team members and trainers to ensure efficient workflow and accurate material handling.
• Adapt to changing priorities by alternating between saw operation and forklift/material handling based on production needs.

Essential Skills

• Experience in material handling in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift to move materials safely.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing and machine operation processes.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic measurements.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols and complete required documentation.
• Ability to learn and follow instructions for saw operation and inspection tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous saw operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and understand basic blueprints or prints.
• Experience using basic inspection tools for measuring and quality checks.
• Familiarity with production workflows and machine operating best practices.
• Comfort working in a team-oriented environment with guidance from trainers.
• Motivation to cross-train and develop skills in different areas of the operation.

You will work with saws, forklifts, and basic inspection tools as part of daily operations. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar, MN.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
