Senior Project Manager - Construction

Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Baltimore, Maryland . Overview As a Senior Project Manager specializing in industrial construction, you will lead complex projects on active construction sites, delivering exceptional results through hands-on management and strategic oversight. Your field experience, safety-focused approach, and effective communication skills are essential for project success. Responsibilities Manage all phases of industrial construction projects from planning through closeout, maintaining presence on active job sites Oversee project execution, coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and client stakeholders Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safety-first mindset Handle budget management, schedule coordination, quality control, and proactive problem-solving Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, translating business objectives into successful project outcomes Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence among project team members Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field PMP certification or equivalent project management credential Minimum 7 years of hands-on project management experience in industrial construction environments Demonstrated experience working on active construction sites (not office/remote-only experience) Deep understanding of industrial construction processes, sequencing, and site logistics Proven track record managing complex industrial projects from inception through completion Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders—from field crews to C-suite executives Exceptional attention to detail in documentation, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control Thorough knowledge of construction safety standards (OSHA) with a commitment to maintaining zero-incident job sites Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in high-pressure, fast-paced site conditions Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field OSHA 30-Hour certification or equivalent safety credentials Experience with lean construction methodologies Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Bluebeam) Background in warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, or logistics facility construction Experience managing design-build or fast-track industrial projects Schedule - Onsite at an active job sites during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
