Enabling people outdoors and critical workflows in the world's most remote places.This is a rare chance to work on technology that matters, at a company that's already proving it worksThe RoleAs an Field Application Engineer for Satellite IoT, you'll serve as the primary technical bridge between Skylo and the device manufacturers, chipset makers, and module partners bringing satellite connectivity to their products. You'll guide OEMs through device design and integration, troubleshoot complex protocol and network issues using deep cellular and satellite expertise, and build the standardized tools and processes that make partner onboarding faster and more reliable. This role sits at the intersection of hands-on technical support and program leadership - directly shaping how quickly and successfully new devices reach the Skylo Network.How You Will ContributeResponsibilities within this role encompass a wide range of technical and collaborative tasks, including:1. End-to-End Device Commercialization & SupportDevice Design & Architecture Consulting: Act as the primary technical advisor for partners from the initial concept phase. Proactively guide OEMs on critical design choices to ensure the device is optimized for satellite network performance and commercial viability.Integration Support & Troubleshooting: Provide deep, hands-on technical support throughout the development lifecycle. Guide partner engineering teams in developing & integrating firmware and software, troubleshoot complex issues by analyzing device logs, and provide expert guidance on cellular network signaling and protocol behavior to resolve integration challenges swiftly.2. Partner Enablement & Technical IntegrationOEM & Chipset Collaboration: Forge strong technical partnerships with device and module makers. Provide expert guidance on hardware integration and software development, leveraging a deep understanding of cellular modules and satellite network architecture to ensure seamless device operation on the Skylo Network.Pre-Certification & Validation: Act as the primary technical liaison to drive the development and support cycles with manufacturers to ensure their products meet network requirements efficiently.3. Program Management & Strategic LeadershipProcess Standardization: Architect and implement standardized processes for critical operations, including device onboarding, SIM provisioning, and network visibility. Develop clear guidelines, documentation, and tools to streamline partner integration and enhance operational efficiency.Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as a key technical authority who excels at cross-functional collaboration, working seamlessly with Product & Engineering. Translate complex satellite and cellular network concepts into actionable requirements and clear external communication.4. Customer Empowerment & Continuous ImprovementSelf-Service Enablement: Drive the development of self-service tools and resources (e.g., knowledge bases, diagnostic utilities) to empower partners and customers.Feedback Integration: Actively establish and manage channels for collecting partner feedback, ensuring their insights are systematically incorporated into product and service enhancements.What We Look For7–10 years of experience in the Telecommunication / Chipset / Module industryCellular Protocol & Call Flow Analysis: In-depth expertise in LTE, VoLTE, NAS, and SMS call flows with a proven ability to perform detailed analysis of modem logs and PCAP traces for troubleshooting and optimization.Core Network & Virtualization: Knowledge of key network elements, including RAN, Evolved Packet Core (EPC) / 5G Core, and packet/signal gateways.Networking Protocols: Strong command of foundational networking protocols such as DNS, TCP/IP, and ICMP.Device & OS Knowledge: Solid understanding of device-level interfaces and protocols for both LTE and IoT ecosystems across various consumer operating systems.Programming & Automation: Skilled in Python and shell scripting for automation, diagnostics, and development tasks.Network Performance Tuning: Knowledgeable in analyzing and configuring network parameters related to latency, RF conditions, and timing to ensure optimal performanceYou are a fluent daily AI user — you draft, summarize, research, and debug with AI tools without being prompted.
