We’re seeking a knowledgeable and highly organized Shipping and Receiving Manager to lead our shipping, receiving, and warehousing activities. This role involves managing personnel, systems, and resources across departments to elevate customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. You’ll leverage your print and mailing expertise to optimize workflows, maintain safety, and drive cost-effective and seamless operations. Responsibilities Shipping and Receiving Expertise: Manage all aspects of shipping, receiving, and warehousing to meet scheduling, quality, and customer service standards. Print and Mailing Knowledge: Utilize print and mailing knowledge to manage workflow requirements and support production integration. Process and Policy Development: Develop and refine department systems, procedures, and policies to achieve ongoing improvement and customer satisfaction. Cross-Training and Skill Development: Design cross-training plans to ensure consistent skill sets across shifts. Personnel Management and Safety: Supervise and train Shipping and Receiving personnel, enforcing OSHA, safety, and environmental regulations. Performance Management: Document performance, disciplinary actions, policies, and procedures to maintain accountability. Team Communication: Conduct department meetings and facilitate effective communication across teams. Problem Resolution: Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, and other teams to resolve issues like rework, product damages, and discrepancies. Standard Operating Procedures: Develop and document standard operating procedures for efficiency in department operations. Decision-Making: Make informed decisions regarding spending, supplier selection, and other departmental matters. Scheduling and Time Management: Oversee shift schedules, approve vacation requests, and manage time for optimal department productivity. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Build and foster positive working relationships with all departments at all levels. Inventory Controls: Track, manage, and safeguard a company’s stock to ensure accuracy, availability, and cost efficiency. Qualifications In-depth knowledge of safety, housekeeping, and PPE practices. Strong understanding of departmental policies, procedures, and 5S compliance. Experience in print manufacturing and mailing processes. Ability to interpret job tickets, open orders reports, purchase orders, and procedure manuals. Knowledge of terminology, job flow, and quality standards for the Press area. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Education & Experience High school diploma required. 3-5 years of experience in the printing and mailing industry preferred. Ready to Join?
