- Manage multiple civil engineering and land development projects simultaneously from planning and design through permitting and construction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and project teams.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, resource allocation, and forecasting.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, providing technical oversight and mentorship to junior staff.
- Coordinate preparation of site plans, grading plans, utility design, stormwater management systems, and permitting applications.
- Oversee quality control reviews and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Attend client meetings, public hearings, and municipal board presentations as required.
- Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain project performance and profitability.
- Support business development efforts through proposal preparation, client engagement, and networking activities.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
The Successful Applicant A successful Civil Project Manager should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or required.
- 7+ years of progressive civil engineering and project management experience.
- Strong background in land development, municipal engineering, site development, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of New Jersey permitting processes and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
