Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team at our metal recycling facility. As an Excavator Operator, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and safe handling of scrap metal materials using heavy machinery. Your primary responsibility will be to operate an excavator to move, load, and process scrap metal materials while adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Operate an excavator to efficiently and safely load, unload, and move scrap metal materials within the facility.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the excavator to ensure proper functionality and minimize downtime.
Sort and segregate different types of scrap metal materials as required, following established procedures and guidelines.
Coordinate with other team members to optimize workflow and ensure the timely processing of materials.
Monitor equipment operation and production processes to promptly identify and address any issues or malfunctions.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the proper disposal of debris and waste materials.
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Keep accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and production data as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience operating excavators or similar heavy equipment in an industrial or construction setting.
Valid excavator operator certification or license: Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to excavator operation.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime.
