Optical Manager Austin, Texas Medical Eyeglass Center Inc Austin, Texas, United States About this position Optical Department Locations: Multi-location management around the Austin area Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic Optical Manager to lead operations for our Houston locations. This role is responsible for overseeing daily dispensary functions, driving sales performance, managing a team of optical associates and/or licensed opticians, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with proven experience in retail, healthcare or optical management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering results. What You’ll Do Lead and manage all aspects of the optical dispensary, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and compliance with company standards. Build and maintain strong partnerships with clients, providers, technicians, and administrative staff. Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing optical sales team. Oversee sales performance, inventory management, patient flow, and merchandising strategies. Ensure accurate processing of orders and insurance claims, and timely delivery of financial reports. Monitor and improve key performance metrics, including sales, collections, and receivables. Implement promotional initiatives and provide input on product selection and inventory needs. Serve as the primary liaison between leadership and our client. What We’re Looking For Proven leadership experience in optical, retail, or healthcare management. Strong financial and operational acumen with the ability to analyze data and implement improvements. Proficiency with all MS Office products Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to recruit, coach, and inspire a team. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Requirements High School Diploma or GED Minimum 6 months of experience in optical Knowledge of frame adjustments and frame repairs Experience taking accurate measurements (PD, seg height, optical center) Familiarity with optical lab processes and lens types (single vision, bifocal, progressive) Experience reading lenses using manual lensometer Ability to handle insurance eligibility checks and authorizations Strong attention to detail and accuracy when filling prescriptions Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Basic computer skills and experience with EHR or optical POS systems #J-18808-Ljbffr Medical Eyeglass Center Inc
