Looking for Pinot Passionate 2026 Harvest Interns!

Job Description:

Talisman Wines is searching for interns to work during the 2026 harvest. Talisman is a small, quality-focused Pinot Noir producer located in Sonoma, California. This is an opportunity to participate in a broad range of winemaking activities from fruit processing/crush, fermentation management, pressing, barreling, and every other harvest-related task you can think of. You will be a key part of the winemaking team and will work closely with the winemaker and an experienced cellar crew.

Our ideal candidates are smart, hardworking, detail oriented, possess a sense of humor, graceful under pressure, and possess a passion for learning about the process of high-end Pinot Noir production.

Here is a partial list of what you'll experience during harvest:
Cleaning and sanitation of equipment
Grape receiving, sorting, and processing
Fermentation management - temperature control, punch downs, pump overs, pigeage (treading by foot)
Nervously waiting for native yeast to kick in
Fermentation monitoring and sampling
Draining fermenters and shoveling pommace
Filling barrels
Barrel topping
Barrel preparation and maintenance
More cleaning and sanitizing
General winery procedures

Candidate requirements:
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Ability and willingness to work long, flexible hours
Attention to detail
Genuine interest in Pinot Noir and wine in general
Ability to stand, climb, and bend for extended periods of time
Minimum age of 21 years
Valid drivers license
Ability to work lawfully in the United States

The internship starts early to mid-August and usually goes through the end of October or mid-November.
