The Bob Dylan Center inspires and celebrates fearless creativity by exploring the music and artistry of the Nobel Prize–winning singer-songwriter as a catalyst for personal expression and cultural change. While the center is anchored by a permanent exhibit on the life and work of Bob Dylan, it also offers additional exhibits, public programs, performances, lectures and publications, through which it aims to foster a conversation about the role of creativity in our lives. Position Purpose Reporting to the Senior Director of Mission Advancement, the Associate Manager of Membership & Annual Giving is responsible for the day-to-day administration, implementation, and growth of the membership and annual giving programs for the Woody Guthrie Center and Bob Dylan Center. Working under the strategic direction of the Senior Director of Mission Advancement, this position executes initiatives that strengthen member and donor engagement, increase retention and participation, and generate contributed revenue in support of the American Song Archives mission. The Associate Manager builds and maintains meaningful relationships with members and annual donors, ensures exceptional stewardship and customer service, and collaborates across departments to enhance the overall supporter experience. Essential Duties Membership Program Administration & Growth Implement membership acquisition, retention, renewal, and upgrade strategies in partnership with the Senior Director of Mission Advancement. Manage membership campaigns, including acquisition efforts, monthly renewals, lapsed member reactivation, direct mail, email communications, online membership processing, prospecting, and community outreach initiatives. Monitor membership performance and recommend opportunities to increase membership participation, retention, engagement, and revenue. Oversee the creation, administration, fulfillment, and evaluation of membership benefits, including membership cards, member premiums, newsletters, digital content, and exclusive member experiences. Evaluate membership benefits and premiums to ensure strong member value and responsible use of organizational resources. Develop and implement innovative member recognition, engagement, and retention opportunities, including member events and community partnerships. Annual Giving & Donor Stewardship Execute annual giving initiatives, including annual appeals, direct solicitation campaigns, Giving Tuesday, year-end fundraising efforts, and other annual fund programs. Partner with the Senior Director of Mission Advancement to strengthen member and donor relationships and encourage member-to-donor conversion. Cultivate, steward, and retain annual fund donors through personalized communications, recognition opportunities, and ongoing engagement. Support donor engagement and relationship-building efforts by tracking constituent interactions, documenting stewardship activities, and maintaining accurate records of donor cultivation opportunities. Identify members and donors with potential for deeper philanthropic engagement and refer qualified prospects to the Senior Director of Mission Advancement for further cultivation. Communications & Marketing Develop, write, and manage membership, annual fund, and stewardship communications. Draft and maintain membership welcome communications, renewal requests, donor acknowledgements, fundraising one sheets, fundraising appeals, newsletter content, web content, and other donor-facing materials. Collaborate with marketing staff to ensure consistency of messaging, branding, and design across membership and fundraising materials. Partner with marketing staff to maintain membership and donor-related content on the Woody Guthrie Center and Bob Dylan Center websites. Tailor messaging for members, donors, prospects, and lapsed supporters to encourage engagement, renewal, upgrades, and giving. Draft acknowledgements, stewardship correspondence, and donor communications. Events & Constituent Engagement Work with events staff to plan and execute member events, previews, appreciation gatherings, and other donor engagement opportunities. Collaborate with Guest Services to support membership sales, cultivation, and retention initiatives within the visitor experience. Support efforts to convert visitors, event attendees, subscribers, and other constituents into members and donors. Represent the organization at museum-sponsored programs, events, exhibit openings, and community outreach activities as needed. Database Management & Reporting Partner with the Database Manager to ensure the accurate and timely entry of membership and donor gifts into Tessitura or other donor management systems. Maintain accurate donor and member records, files, and documentation. Generate and analyze membership and annual giving reports, including participation, retention, revenue, campaign performance, and engagement metrics. Track and document constituent engagement activities, stewardship efforts, and prospect referrals. Patron Service & Support Provide exceptional service to members, donors, and prospective supporters via phone, email, mail, and in-person interactions. Ensure gifts are appropriately acknowledged and membership benefits are fulfilled accurately and promptly. Support departmental projects and perform other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Requirements & Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Three to five years of successful experience in fundraising, membership, philanthropy, advancement, donor relations, or a related nonprofit field; museum or cultural institution experience preferred. Demonstrated success supporting membership programs, annual giving initiatives, or individual donor fundraising efforts. Experience working with Tessitura or a comparable donor database or CRM system preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Skills & Abilities Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create compelling fundraising and stewardship materials. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to exceptional donor, member, and visitor service. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse stakeholders. Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to inform decision-making and program improvement. Demonstrated commitment to relationship-building and constituent engagement as central components of successful fundraising and mission advancement. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently while contributing as part of a team. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and organizational needs. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Ability to sit, type, and work at a computer for extended periods. Ability to move throughout office, museum, and event spaces as needed. Hours & Location Regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., based in the American Song Archives offices. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events, programs, exhibitions, and special initiatives. Reliable transportation for work-related activities is required. Occasional travel required (less than 20%).
