Director AI/ML Engineering

DescriptionKforce has a client that is seeking a Director AI/ML Engineering in Richmond, VA.Responsibilities:* Develop and execute the organization's AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation strategy* Lead the design, delivery, and optimization of AI-powered products, services, and business solutions* Drive adoption of generative AI, intelligent automation, and advanced analytics capabilities across the enterprise* Build and maintain scalable AI/ML platforms, engineering frameworks, and operational processes* Establish governance, security, compliance, and responsible AI practices for AI solutions* Partner with product, engineering, data, and business leaders to define priorities and deliver measurable business outcomes* Lead AI platform integration efforts across customer-facing and internal business systems* Develop and oversee AI engineering roadmaps, budgets, performance metrics, and delivery objectives* Champion engineering best practices, including Agile development, testing, automation, and continuous improvement* Manage and mentor high-performing engineering teams, fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional growth* Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to enhance customer experiences, employee productivity, and operational efficiency* Ensure reliability, scalability, performance, and monitoring standards are maintained across AI solutionsRequirements* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field* 10+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science, software engineering, or related technical disciplines* 5+ years of experience leading and developing technical teams* Proven experience delivering AI, machine learning, automation, or advanced analytics solutions in production environments* Experience with generative AI technologies, large language models, and AI-powered application development* Experience implementing modern software development practices, including Agile and DevOps methodologies* Strong understanding of machine learning engineering, AI platforms, data pipelines, and model operations* Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences* Demonstrated success driving innovation, strategic initiatives, and large-scale technology programsJob TypeDirect HireCompensation200000 - $250000
