CNC Operator 1st Shift

At Martin Sprocket & Gear, we're dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence, and we're looking for skilled CNC Machine Operators like you!What You'll Do:CNC Operation: Set up full production cycle and operate CNC Lathe and Mill machines for tasks such as turning, drilling, bar feeding, milling and live tooling.Machine Optimization: Optimize setup times, improve productivity, maintain offsets, and maximize machine utilization.Blueprint Interpretation: Read and understand blueprints and route instructions.GD&T Application: Apply expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Program Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot programs and make necessary adjustments.Inspection Process: Follow in-process part inspection protocols and report non-conformance issues to the Supervisor/Lead.Collaborative Communication: Coordinate with superintendents, managers, production control, and quality personnel to resolve quality concerns.Safety Compliance: Work safely and consistently wear required PPE throughout the shift.Shift Documentation: Record and document issues for a seamless shift transition.Preventive Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance checks and document findings.What You'll Bring:Measurement Proficiency: Knowledge of calipers, gauges, and other required measuring tools.Math Skills: Strong proficiency in basic math.Documentation Skills: Ability to accurately document machining procedures.Tooling Knowledge: Familiarity with metals, part-holding fixtures, and lathe/mill tooling.Machine Experience: Experience with Okuma, Mazak, and Mori lathe machines (preferred).Communication: Basic oral communication skills and the ability to read, comprehend, and complete logs and reports in English.Physical Stamina: Ability to handle heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components.Policy Compliance: Availability to work scheduled hours and adhere to all company policies, including timekeeping.Adaptability: Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment and stand for an entire shift.Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of machining practices, materials, and general mechanical principles.Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to be trained and a desire to learn new skills.Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Reliability: Dependable with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.Your Schedule:1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PMTo perform this job successfully, you must be able to report daily to the branch to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
