Lab Assistant - PRN- 3rd Shift

Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant for its Houston laboratory on a casual, as-needed basis working third shift. The role involves receiving, sorting, and preparing clinical specimens, performing data entry, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and prepare clinical lab specimens for testing
• Scan and perform data entry for specimen and patient information
• Monitor lab equipment function and perform basic maintenance
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and maintain work area
• Complete administrative records and follow all safety procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Comfortable handling biological specimens and accurately identifying them
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet turnaround times
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Pass standardized color blindness test
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
