Structural Repair Engineer (Associate or Experienced) (Structural Design) Company: The Boeing Company Position Responsibilities Integrates data from production and retrofit drawings, specifications, product standards, tooling designs, internal/external publications, test/inspection procedures, and customer information to ensure complete and accurate SRM procedures Coordinates with FAA Engineering Unit Members (E-UM) and IPT groups, such as stress and materials engineering groups, to ensure feasibility, safety, and compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards Manages work assignments based on a mutually agreed schedule with internal and external stakeholders Analyzes basic customer technical queries and provides retrofit/repair solutions when necessary Validates and verifies systems and components by integrating analytical and test results to ensure they meet requirements and specifications Uses ENOVIA, CATIA, IVT, and other internal tools to research and understand structural parts, designs, and finishes Researches and reviews Stress Engineering’s strength check notes and other engineering data to formulate allowable damage limits and repair procedures in the SRM Assists in developing SRM procedures for various components throughout the airframe Coordinates with various engineering groups and E-UMs to provide FAA approved structural repairs to meet regulatory/customer requirements and schedules Assists in providing updates and necessary improvements to the SRM to improve customer satisfaction, efficiency, and to meet changing requirements Basic Qualifications (Required) Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical, or Material Sciences) 3+ years’ experience with structural design principles for repair and maintenance (fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques) 3+ years’ experience coordinating across multiple disciplines to develop repair data Preferred Qualifications (Desired) 5+ years’ experience with structural design principles for repair and maintenance and coordinating across multiple disciplines to develop repair data Experience with engineering tools such as CATIA, ENVOVIA, and/or PDM, Adobe FrameMaker Experience working with FAA continued airworthiness requirements and FAA or Regulatory Administration regulations Experience in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations and environment Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills Pay & Benefits Summary pay range: Associate (level 2): $96,300 – $117,700 Mid Lever (level 3): $117,900 – $144,100 Equal Opportunity Employer Statement Boeing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
