Job Title Sr Mobile Technician Department Maintenance Location United States of America – North Carolina, Charlotte Employment Type Full time Job Summary As a Mobile Technician II, you perform intermediate service and repair on J.B. Hunt tractors, trailers, chassis, containers or power equipment. Under routine supervision, the role works outside the shop, servicing equipment at customer sites or rail yards using a mobile service truck. Key Responsibilities Perform intermediate-level preventive maintenance and repairs, including tire replacements, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics, and basic structural repairs on tractor or trailer equipment. Troubleshoot and repair ABS systems. Operate the mobile service truck and manage inventory. Assist with onboarding and mentorship of tractor technician trainees. Follow all safety requirements while onsite and at customer locations. Accurately complete work orders and other written materials per established procedures. Document damage to company equipment to estimate cost of repairs. Use cutting torch and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipment. Patch holes in trailer or container side panels and roofs. Perform annual AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections under direct supervision. Work Schedule Shifts may vary based on location and business needs. Compensation Starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications. This position may be eligible for an annual bonus and incentives in accordance with the company’s bonus and incentive plans. Two years of experience in semi‑tractor or semi‑trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent education/experience, or military equivalent. Clean motor vehicle record per company guidelines. Own or purchase basic tools. Willingness to work outdoors in various elements. Availability for multiple shifts, including nights and weekends. Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in semi‑tractor or semi‑trailer maintenance and repair. DOT certification in FHWA inspections and air brakes, with 1 year of inspection experience. Welding certification. Forklift certification and experience. EPA Section 608 certification and refrigeration license. Strong communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office suite). Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and wear appropriate PPE.
