Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and OK or compact RN licensure.

Job Details

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting within a hospital,
• Patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3,
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM),
• Weekend shifts required,
• On-call responsibilities required,
• Floating to Med Surg required within scope of practice,
• Block scheduling accommodated,
• Meditech charting experience preferred,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (OK or compact) required,
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required,
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS,
• Additional certifications preferred: CPI, ISTAT, NIHSS,
• Community hospital experience required,
• LTAC experience preferred,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Pending RN license not accepted,
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration,
• Experience with ventilator care, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning,
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation,
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care,
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care, cardiac catheterization, sheath removal, and VAD management preferred,
• CVA/acute stroke management experience preferred,

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to critically ill surgical ICU patients including those with multisystem organ dysfunction,
• Support cardiac, renal, respiratory, neurological, and GI patient populations,
• Follow infection prevention and isolation precaution protocols,
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position,
• Local candidates accepted, though a 45-mile radius applies for travel rate eligibility,
• No RTO restrictions,
• Travel pairs allowed
