Job Title: RN Step Down Profession: RN Step Down Specialty: RN Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 08:45 AM - 07:15 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: - Experience in high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) - Experience in biphasic positive airway pressure (BIPAP) - Stable glycemic management - Post-operative care for CABG, AVR, MVR - Cardiovascular and vascular experience - Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair experience - Lobectomy experience - Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) experience - Experience with NSTEMI, STEMI, and acute coronary syndrome (ACS) - Experience with pacemakers - Experience managing sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB), and post-diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) - Experience in respiratory failure and tracheostomy care Description: This is a 30-bed step down unit. The unit floats between the critical care service line. Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Experience with high-flow nasal cannula and biphasic positive airway pressure is required. Stable glycemic management is essential. Experience with post-operative care for CABG, AVR, and MVR cases is necessary. Candidates should have cardiovascular and vascular experience. Experience in abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, lobectomy, and carotid endarterectomy is desirable. Familiarity with NSTEMI, STEMI, and acute coronary syndrome is expected. Candidates should have experience with pacemakers, sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding, and post-DKA. Experience in caring for patients with respiratory failure and tracheostomy is required.
