What to Expect Consider before submitting an application: This position is expected to start August or September 2026 and continue through fallterm (ending approximately December 2026 or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships. International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part‑time during the academic year. Location: Palo Alto, CA About the Team Tesla's Power Electronics group is looking for interns to design and manufacture power electronics hardware for a variety of automotive and energy storage products including Cybertruck, Powerwall, Megapack and many other Tesla automotive and energy storage products. The ideal candidate will have outstanding academic performance and a passion for hardware design, proficiency with basic EE tools, and have a solid understanding of the theory and application of electronic circuits, magnetics, and capacitors. What You'll Do Simulate and design power converters for use in automotive and energy storage applications Assist validation and debugging for power converters Collaborate with mechanical, PCB layout and firmware engineering team to successfully design, validate and manufacture power converters What You'll Bring Currently pursuing a Masters or Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field Experience with high voltage (>400 V) testing Lab experience with basic EE tools (Oscilloscope, Network analyzer, Signal Generators etc.) Solid understanding of the operation principle of switched power converters Familiar with schematics capture and power converter circuit simulation tools Familiar with analog and digital circuit design and validation Experience with Altium Designer is preferred Experience with communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI) is preferred Compensation and Benefits As a full‑time Tesla Intern, you will be eligible for: Medical plans and options with $0 payroll deduction Family‑building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans.
