Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner

A health services network in Brooklyn, New York is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join their Inpatient Psychiatric team. In this role, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide locum tenens coverage in a busy adult inpatient setting. The role involves delivering comprehensive psychiatric assessment, medication management, and interdisciplinary care for patients with acute behavioral health needs.

About the Opportunity:

Shift: Day
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4-5 days per week
Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
Setting: Inpatient Psychiatry

Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and admission assessments
Diagnose and manage acute psychiatric conditions
Conduct daily follow-up visits and medication management
Develop and update individualized treatment plans
Complete progress notes and clinical documentation in the EMR

Qualifications:

Active New York Nurse Practitioner license
Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
DEA registration or ability to obtain
Experience in inpatient psychiatry
Strong assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills
Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities

Desired Skills:

Experience working in a high-acuity inpatient psychiatric unit
Familiarity with adult behavioral health populations
Experience with hospital EMR documentation
