Role: Overnight Veterinary Technician / Technician Assistant Status: Full-time Salary: $23 - $28 per hour (depending on experience) Schedule: 4 x 10-hour overnight shifts, 9:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.; holidays and one weekend night required Location: 12116 E. Washington Blvd Animal Hospital is looking to add a full-time Overnight Veterinary Technician / Technician Assistant to our team. Under the management of the veterinarian and technician supervisor, this role helps provide quality patient care while supporting overall hospital operations. Why Our Team Loves Washington Blvd Animal Hospital Supportive team environment focused on patient care and collaboration Opportunities to use and grow technical skills Hands-on experience with emergency, surgical, and hospitalized patient care A workplace that values communication, learning, and teamwork A hospital culture committed to compassionate care and professional growth What You’ll Do Follow digital treatment plans prescribed by DVMs Provide safe and effective patient handling and restraint Assist with emergency and surgical care, including IV catheter placement Obtain quality lab samples through venipuncture, cystocentesis, fecal collection, and other methods Perform in-hospital diagnostics including urinalysis, cytology, and lab sample processing Administer SQ, IM, and IV medications, injections, fluid therapy, and nursing care as directed Administer sedation for minor procedures as directed Administer and monitor general anesthesia when required Maintain accurate and complete digital medical records Use low-stress patient handling techniques Support blood transfusion protocols as needed Manage instrument sterilization, autoclave and EO use, and surgical supply inventory Maintain treatment areas, wards, laundry, and hospital cleanliness Follow infectious disease, medical waste, biomedical waste, and hospital safety protocols What Our Veterinary Professionals Bring Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience preferred Knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology Strong verbal and written communication skills Professional and compassionate communication with clients and staff Ability to build rapport with team members, doctors, and leadership Positive, supportive approach in a fast-paced hospital setting Patience, kindness, compassion, and understanding in challenging situations Strong teamwork skills and willingness to continue learning Ability to share knowledge and support others Join Our Team!
