Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning across pediatric to geriatric age groups, utilizing both assessments and observational methods.
  • Create tailored treatment blueprints aimed at meeting immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver focused, individualized speech therapy sessions that address a spectrum of needs including language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and caregivers to design comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide insightful education and resources to patients and their families to bolster progress outside therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation consistent with required guidelines at the state and federal levels.
  • Engage in ongoing education to stay ahead in the field through collaboration with peers and pursuit of knowledge.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of your start date.
Skills
  • Deep knowledge of evidence-based therapies for numerous age groups, complemented by a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired communication disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills adaptable for engaging with patients, families, and a diverse care team.
  • Able to modify therapy methods to cater to the varied cultural and linguistic needs of the individuals you serve.
  • Strong clinical analysis and decision-making skills.
  • Familiar with electronic medical record systems and documentation requirements.
