Assistant Operations Manager

Facility Maintenance AssistantThis position is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager with day-to-day operations of the facility maintenance, communication with third party contractors, ensuring compliance with company policies and city and state facility maintenance staff. They will assist with managing company resources to stay within budget. This position is responsible for the successful delivery of all aspects of the ice events to guarantee a safe, clean facility. This person will assist the Operations Manager with the maintenance of the facility's ice, equipment, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems and ensure the facility's interior and exterior are clean and functional at all times. This position is not eligible for remote work.Essential FunctionsAssist the Operations Manager and Regional Operations Manager with facility maintenanceEnsure operations equipment is properly maintained and functionalMaintain the building's appearance to company standardsAssist with ice installation and ice removalSupervise and complete preventative building maintenance, tasks, and projectsIdentify and assign work orders to staff, follow up, and review completed workWork with Operations Manager to develop and implement goals, objectives, and work standardsWork with third party contractors on related maintenance of the building and siteAssist Operations Manager to streamline work processesCommunicate mechanical repair needs to the Engineering department in a timely mannerEnsure facility readiness and smooth operation of events and programsAdditional ResponsibilitiesAssist the Operations Manager and Regional Operations Manager to ensure projects stay within budget guidelinesEnsure a safe environment for all patrons and employees by following the Life Safety and Emergency ProgramPerforms manager on duty responsibilities as neededImplement and practice facility regulations, policies, and proceduresAnticipate problems and recommend appropriate solutionsProvide clear, concise, and timely communicationJob QualificationsHigh School Diploma or G.E.D.A minimum of five (5) years working in the operation and/or management of ice arena facilities or similar with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity is preferredKnowledge of day-to-day ice rink business with experience in general building maintenance and the use of maintenance equipmentWorking knowledge of electrical circuits, outlets, lighting, and lighting ballastsKnowledge of internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems, and 12v vehicular systemsKnowledge of HVAC with ability to manipulate systems to environmental needsKnowledge of Occupational Health and Safety standardsSelf-starter with ability to analyze situations and develop solutions to problems, strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectivelyOutstanding interpersonal skills to motivate and lead a teamBasic plumbing knowledgeExperienced in ice maintenance and installationProblem solving and troubleshooting skillsRequired certificates - OSHA 10 Hour general industry, Ammonia Safety, Crowd Management, or a willingness to obtain these certificates within six (6) months of hiringExperience driving forklifts, scissor, and boom liftsKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookAble to work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidaysPhysical Demands and Working EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle large objects, tools, carts and drive machinery. Reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, talk, and hear for up to 8-14 hours a day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
