Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This vital role involves providing exceptional care to patients in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 24
• Trauma Bays: 3
• Fast Track Availability: Yes
• Separate Triage Area: Yes (with occasional traveler involvement)
• Intermixed ER Holds: Yes
• In-house Security: Yes

Patient Volume

• Average Patients Per Day: 80-90
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1 to 4

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• TNCC
• PALS or ENPC

Common Diagnoses/Patient Types

• Trauma
• Stroke
• Sepsis
• CHF
• Cardiac

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting
• Ability to manage ER holds
• Experience working with both ED Physicians and Mid-Levels
• Comfortable working alongside Nurse Aids, Paramedics, and Patient Sitters

Additional Responsibilities

• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) through Paragon
• Perform respiratory treatments and assessments by collaborating with respiratory therapy
• Monitor patients without dedicated Monitor Techs; RNs must accurately interpret ECG rhythms
• Phlebotomy duties handled by Techs or RNs

Shifts & Scheduling

• Self-scheduling available for day and night shifts (e.g., 9-9, 11-11, 1-1, 3-3)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• No call or standby requirements
