Description:

Looking for a surgical tech who can take neuro-trauma call and perform cranial procedures independently. Candidates must have orthopedic total joint and level II trauma experience. General OR experience is essential as well. Fingernail policy prohibits artificial nails in all patient care areas. Refusal to comply will result in termination of contract. The operating room has 11 suites and averages 18 cases per day. Common procedures include orthopedics, urology, ENT, and neuro surgeries. Some pediatric cases may be involved for RN roles only. Experience with Da Vinci robotics, Mako, Stealth, and Scopis technology is beneficial. The unit offers a good partnership between surgeons and anesthesia teams. The environment is fast-paced and requires a strong work ethic. Candidates should be willing to speak up regarding patient safety. Flexibility is required, and travelers should be open to floating and working when needed. Call requirements include one weeknight per week and three weekend days per month, with 24-hour shifts as necessary. Response time for call is 15 minutes. Scrubs will be provided for the role. The facility does not allow block scheduling or the same schedule for travel duos. The charge nurse and manager are present daily, and the charge nurse does not take a room assignment. Candidates should be prepared for potential cancellation of up to four shifts per 13-week assignment. Experience with Epic charting is preferred.
