Company Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Job Summary Registered Nurse – Women and Infants unit. Responsible for nursing care of patients in a 20‑bed unit, including 4 Level II NICU private rooms. Key Responsibilities Assess human responses and plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals or families. Lead and support a professional practice team, model positive behaviors, and mentor colleagues. Assign and delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill level; coordinate charge duties and lunches. Provide verbal and written feedback on clinical practice and performance to peers. Participate in interdisciplinary team evaluations of clinical care and health services. Promote patient safety initiatives, such as National Patient Safety Goals, and quality improvement activities. Ensure appropriate order sets are used; supervise scope of practice of delegated LPNs. Use the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement individualized patient care plans. Derive culturally and age‑appropriate expected outcomes involving patients, families, and other health‑care providers. Analyze health status and compare data with norms to determine care needs. Monitor changes in patient condition, notify physicians or supervisors, intervene appropriately, and document accurately. Accept assignments in other units and perform duties within specified competency. Commit to continuous lifelong learning for self and others; seek formal and independent educational activities. Participate in professional organizations and systematic peer review; obtain informal feedback from patients and peers. Maintain time and attendance per hospital policy; evaluate patient and family satisfaction; support department‑specific satisfaction initiatives. Resolve patient and family concerns; promote compassionate, patient‑centered communication. Manage time effectively to complete assigned duties during the shift.
