Position Details

Position : Attendant Caregiver – Non-Medical In-Home Support

Pay Range : $10.00–$14.00 per hour

Employment Type : Full-time and part-time hours available

Schedule : Flexible availability required for days, evenings, weekends, early mornings, and overnight shifts as assigned

Location: Anthony, KS – primarily in person, serving clients in their homes

On-Call : Not routinely required; flexibility may be needed to support client needs and schedule changes

Travel: Local travel to assigned client homes; reliable transportation required

Position Summary

The Attendant Caregiver provides compassionate, dependable non-medical in-home support that helps clients remain safe, dignified, and as independent as possible. This essential role delivers everyday care, companionship, and practical assistance while respecting each client’s preferences, routines, and authorized care plan.

Attendant Caregivers are trusted to recognize and report concerns early, communicate clearly with the Impact Home Health team, and represent our values in every client home. The ideal candidate is caring, reliable, patient, flexible with scheduling, and committed to making a meaningful IMPACT every day.

Essential Responsibilities

Personal Care, Safety & Daily Living Support

• Provide non-medical personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting assistance, and brief changing as authorized in the client’s care plan.

• Assist clients with safe mobility, transfers, ambulation, and repositioning using proper body mechanics, gait belts, lifts, and other approved equipment as trained.

• Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping, laundry, errands, and other approved activities that support a safe, comfortable home environment.

• Offer companionship, conversation, and emotional support while honoring each client’s dignity, choices, culture, and routines.

• Follow all client-care instructions, infection-control practices, and safety procedures; immediately report accidents, injuries, hazards, or changes in the client environment.

Observation, Communication & Care Coordination

• Observe and promptly report changes in a client’s health, behavior, mood, mobility, appetite, safety, or overall well-being to the appropriate supervisor or nursing team.

• Communicate respectfully and clearly with clients, families, office staff, and fellow caregivers to support consistent, client-centered care.

• Arrive on time, complete scheduled visits as assigned, and notify the office immediately if a delay, emergency, or schedule concern arises.

• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely visit documentation in accordance with agency policy and applicable requirements.

• Protect client privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA expectations, client rights, and Impact Home Health policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Minimum of one year of professional caregiving, direct-care, home health, personal care, or closely related experience 

• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and genuinely committed to helping clients maintain dignity, safety, and independence.

• Flexible and available to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and overnight assignments as needed.

• Strong communication, listening, observation, and relationship-building skills.

• Professional, organized, and accountable with time management, attendance, and documentation.

• Able to work independently in client homes while following care plans, agency policy, and supervisory direction.

• Comfortable using mobile technology, digital visit documentation, scheduling platforms, and team communication tools.

Performance & Acknowledgment 

Performance is evaluated on fulfillment of job responsibilities, demonstrated alignment with Impact Home Health values, quality and timeliness of care, documentation, collaboration, reliability, and positive outcomes. Reviews occur at 90 days, six months, and annually thereafter.

Requirements:

 

• Active CNA license or prior non-medical caregiver experience strongly preferred.

• Experience working with elderly adults, individuals with disabilities, or clients requiring personal care support preferred.

• Training or demonstrated comfort with lifts, gait belts, safe transfers, and mobility support strongly preferred.

• Bilingual ability in English and another language preferred but not required.

• Valid Kansas driver’s license, reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and ability to travel to assigned client homes 

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass all required background checks, screenings, and onboarding requirements.
