Position Overview:

We’re seeking a caring and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our team part-time. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient-focused, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team that values providing high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
• Assist the dentist during procedures to ensure efficiency and patient comfort.
• Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining proper infection control protocols.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using Dentrix.
• Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and medical coding standards.
• Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination.
• Manage patient flow efficiently while maintaining high standards of care in pediatric and general dentistry settings.

Requirements

• Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification.
• Proficiency in Dentrix is preferred.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, and medical records management is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and HIPAA regulations.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in dental assisting techniques.
• Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse patient populations including pediatrics.
• Familiarity with EMR systems, documentation review, medical coding, and aseptic techniques.
• Prior experience working in dental clinics or dental offices is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
