Cannabis Outdoor Harvest Techs (Centreville, MD)

Our client is looking for unique persons to join our Post Harvest team. The Post Harvest Technician provides manual labor which supports the activities and operations of our cultivation department, while abiding by laws, rules, policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.

Outdoor Post Harvest Technicians will work outside in different weather conditions. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, positive individual who can think of no better way to spend the workday than tending, pruning and
growing the healthiest cannabis plants with our expert care and precision.





Responsibilities


Prepare the outdoor field:
○ Clear the field of debris

○ Layout irrigation lines

○ Install emitters

○ Fill pots with soil
○ Place the pots in the field

Loading the field:
○ Transplant young plants into pots throughout the field
○ Install trellis netting
○ Place plants in proper configuration
○ Install irrigation emitters
○ Scout for disease, insects, and poor plant health

Growing season care:
○ Prune plants
○ Defoliate plants
○ Ensure proper irrigation
○ Assist with routine spray applications
○ Scout for disease, insects, poor plant health, and ‘herms’

Harvest / Processing:
○ Prepare plants for harvest
○ Harvest designated plants for fresh frozen
○ Process fresh frozen material
○ Harvest designated plants for drying process
○ Hang plants in drying trailer
○ Breakdown / grind dried material

Post-harvest:
○ Conduct post-harvest field clean up
○ Break down outdoor equipment for storage
○ Clean out greenhouse
○ Clean out pole barn
○ Clean out drying trailer
○ Store outdoor equipment in designated locations

Miscellaneous
○ Mow non-cultivation areas within the perimeter fence line

○ Landscape along perimeter fence

○ Remove miscellaneous debris

Desired Experience:

• Previous experience with plant life highly desirable – yes, your home garden absolutely counts!
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic math and computer skills
• Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
• Attention to detail and ability to focus on one task for extended periods of time
• Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently throughout a workday with given directives

Working Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions
• Physical demands – May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (200 pounds with assistance)
• The candidate will be working outdoors in various weather conditions

Physical Requirements:

• This is a physically intensive job, and candidates must be comfortable working all day outdoors
• Daily stretching with the team before work
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, lifting, walking, standing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions
• Able to lift, carry and balance up to 75 pounds (125 pounds with assistance)
• Walking and standing for extended periods of time on unlevel surfaces, as well as stooping, bending, and crouching

Additional Requirements

• Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
• Must be approved by the D.O.A. to receive an Agent badge
• Must be clean shaven and able to meet the conditions for respirator qualification
