Claims Representative

Red Rock Billing is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Claims Representative to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is organized, persistent, comfortable working with insurance payers, and enjoys researching and resolving complex billing issues. What You’ll Do As a Claims Representative, you will be responsible for managing and following up on insurance claims throughout the revenue cycle. You will work closely with insurance companies, internal billing teams, and clients to identify issues, resolve outstanding claims, and support timely reimbursement. Your responsibilities will include: Monitor insurance claims from initial submission through final resolution Follow up on outstanding, pending, rejected, and denied claims Research claim status and payment information through payer portals and by contacting insurance companies Identify and resolve claim errors, including eligibility, authorization, coding, billing, and payer-related issues Review payer responses, EOBs, ERAs, and other payment documentation Investigate underpayments and discrepancies between billed, allowed, and paid amounts Submit corrected claims and appeals when appropriate Initiate and track medical record requests and other documentation required by insurance companies Maintain accurate and detailed notes regarding claim activity and payer communication Identify trends in denials, rejections, and delayed payments and communicate recurring issues to leadership Work with internal teams to obtain information needed to resolve claims Maintain consistent follow-up on assigned accounts and meet productivity and quality expectations Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow all applicable company, state, and federal requirements Cross-train in other areas of the revenue cycle and assist the team where needed What We’re Looking For Previous experience in medical billing, claims, revenue cycle management, or a related healthcare position preferred Behavioral health billing experience is a plus Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent research and problem-solving skills Comfortable communicating with insurance companies and navigating payer websites Ability to understand and interpret EOBs, ERAs, claim status information, and payer correspondence Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage a high volume of claims while maintaining accuracy Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment Professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude Willingness to learn and cross-train in different areas of the revenue cycle Why Join Red Rock Billing?
