Gilbert Road, Gilbert, AZ Type: Part-Time Salary: $16.40 – $19.45 /hr (variable overtime eligible) Job Overview The Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day delivery of resident-centered activities and programs for the Sunrise Senior Living Community while meeting and/or exceeding Sunrise quality standards. Schedule Friday / Saturdays (potentially more hours) Occasional holidays, evenings, and events Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Must be willing to drive the Community Bus and Town Car Help with Concierge lunch coverage Certifications required: CPR and First Aid, AZ Fingerprint clearance card, Food Handler’s Card Responsibilities Assist in maintaining a balanced resident-centered activity program following the Activity Program Guidelines and direction from immediate supervisor. Assist in preparing the activity calendar and newsletter in coordination with the supervisor. Conduct or assist with planned resident activities, programs, and services throughout the community. Invite and encourage residents to participate in activities. Assist residents to and from activity areas when necessary. Record and document resident participation as required by federal, state, provincial, and local laws. Maintain activity areas in an orderly manner. Assist with inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs, and craft services. Assist with network contacts and relationships, arranging speakers from community groups to provide educational, social, and engaging activities. Responsible for daily care of any animals and/or plants within the activities program and services. Assist with and support networking actions for retaining a volunteer base and maintaining relationships with local businesses, organizations, and schools. Assist with volunteer orientations, training programs, and paperwork according to Sunrise and state/province standards. Work with volunteers and oversee their activities as needed. Involve families, residents, and community volunteers in activity programs as directed. Review, read, notate, and initialize the Daily Log and Department Log for resident information and changes. Practice positive resident relations following Sunrise Shared Values, respond to requests, and direct feedback to supervisor. Review Individualized Service Plan (ISP)/Individualized Care Plan (ICP) and Resident Profile for every new resident. Assist in ensuring each resident’s Memory Box is completed within two weeks of move-in. Maintain confidentiality of resident information at all times. Understand and demonstrate proficiency with the Quality Assurance Process and essential quality service standards. Partner with the community team to ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local laws, regulations, and Sunrise quality standards. Maintain and exceed standards of cleanliness, hygiene, proper attire, and health. Partner with community team to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations, promoting risk management programs and policies. Practice safety procedures at all times, including PPE, fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets, and Lockout‑Tagout procedures. Participate as a member of a team and commit to working toward team goals. Demonstrate daily interactions with others through the Team Member Credo. Contribute to overall engagement programs and processes, including participation in surveys and improvement workshops. Attend regular meetings (Town Hall, Department Team, Cross Over, etc.) as directed by the Supervisor/Department Coordinator. Maintain compliance in required training and all training mandated by state, province, or regulatory authorities. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications One year of job‑related experience preferred in senior living communities. Current applicable driver’s license to drive Sunrise vehicles with an acceptable driving record. Completion of Driver Training may be required; certificates available per regulations. Ability to lead activities and motivate volunteers and team members for social events. Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), and Sunrise applications. As required, Sunrise team members who drive a Sunrise vehicle must review and sign the Driver Job Description and complete Driver Training.
