Job Details Hours of Work: Varies Days of Week: Monday through Friday Job Description Your Job: The Cardiovascular Tech RCIS primarily assists with technical aspects of invasive cardiovascular procedures under the direction of the supervisor and physician. Requirements Associate or Bachelor’s degree with science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience Required and preferred licenses or certifications: American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification; RCIS certification within six months of hire; ARRT and TX RT(R) in lieu of RCIS Responsibilities Assist in teaching and orientation of students and new staff. Assist physician as a monitor tech during any cath‑lab procedure by interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKGs, operating the physiologic recorder, and interpreting normal and abnormal pressures and waveforms. Assist physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operate imaging equipment under physician direction. Assist physician with some diagnostic procedures as a circulator by monitoring patient status, handing supplies to the scrub tech, and operating imaging equipment. Assist with transport of patient to and from the department. Cleans and stocks the cath lab. Demonstrate knowledge of medications and dosages used. Demonstrate theoretical knowledge of procedures. Order supplies for the cath lab and demonstrate effective inventory control. Post‑procedure safety: remove arterial and/or venous sheath, maintain hemostasis, and monitor patient status. Prepare lab for procedure: set up and maintain sterile technique. Prepare patient for procedure: shave, prep, and mark arterial pulses. Troubleshoot equipment problems. Additional Information Expected to take call once the STEMI program begins in 2026.
