Civil Engineer – Land Development
Responsibilities
- Design and develop civil/site plans for land development projects
- Prepare grading, drainage, utility, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management plans
- Perform site layout and grading calculations
- Assist with permitting and coordination with local municipalities and regulatory agencies
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and construction documents
- Coordinate with surveyors, architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders
- Review plans and specifications for accuracy and compliance with applicable standards
- Assist with construction administration, site inspections, and responding to contractor questions
- Manage project tasks, schedules, and deliverables as experience level allows
- Support senior engineers and project managers on larger or more complex projects
Qualifications
- 2–20 years of civil engineering experience, preferably with a focus on land development or site design
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with land development, site design, grading, drainage, and utility design
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal design standards and permitting requirements
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar civil design software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a project team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
