QA Systems Analyst

Location: Clifton New Jersey - Onsite Only - Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm *this role is not open to remote work* About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Analyst to join our team in a Vision Insurance environment. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of core business applications running on AS400 (IBM iSeries) as well as modern web-based platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong manual testing experience, a solid understanding of insurance workflows, and the ability to work across legacy and web systems. Key Responsibilities Perform manual testing of AS400-based applications (green screen environment). Validate business workflows related to vision insurance claims, eligibility, billing, and member services. Execute functional, regression, integration, and system testing for both AS400 and web applications. Analyze business and technical requirements to create test cases, test plans, and test scenarios. Document and track defects using defect management tools; collaborate with developers for resolution. Conduct end-to-end testing across multiple systems, ensuring data integrity between AS400 and web platforms. Participate in UAT support and provide detailed test reports. Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and internal quality standards. Work closely with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, Developers, and Operations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent related field. 3+ years of experience in manual QA testing required. Hands-on experience testing AS400 (IBM iSeries) applications required. Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, ALM, or similar) is required. Experience with web application testing (UI, functional, cross-browser). Strong understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies. Experience in writing SQL queries for backend validation. Preferred Qualifications Experience in healthcare or vision insurance domain is a plus. Knowledge of claims processing systems and insurance workflows. Exposure to data validation between legacy and modern systems. Experience working in Agile or hybrid environments.
