WHAT YOU’LL DO

We make an extraordinary product that requires meticulous attention to detail and adherence to unmatched quality standards. As our Quality Technician, you’ll be our gatekeeper focused on quality assurance (QA) while operating a coordinate measuring machine (CMM). You’ll make sure all incoming production parts that go into Seakeepers meet the quality standards we have set for ourselves. You’ll ensure all products meet the defined requirements by:

 

• Operating a CMM and reviewing drawing specifications for incoming production parts, first articles, and prototypes
• Analyzing problems, initiating corrective actions, and reporting results effectively
• Verifying machined parts meet drawing specifications using inspection equipment including an automated & manual CMM
• Operating a variety of inspection equipment, hydraulic test devices and specialty inspection tools ex. Profilometer, Creaform 3D scanner etc.
• Identifying and documenting non-conforming product in laboratory setting
• Updating production documentation for inspection parts status
• Communicating inspection results internally to quality leadership and the quality department and notifying vendors of non-conformances

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

MUST-HAVES

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year experience in CMM operation or CNC machining working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Experience working with inspection equipment and tools
• Ability to perform precision manual measurements using hand tools etc
• Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Intermediate computer skills – proficiency with Word and Excel
• Ability to report inspection results and effectively communicate results to the Quality department
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Maintain a positive, professional, and customer-centric attitude at all times
• Strong analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills
• Superior time management, multitasking, organizational, and prioritization skills
• Ability to do the following, with or without reasonable accommodation: 

• • Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and products weighing up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds occasionally
  • Stand or walk for extended periods (8–12-hour shifts) on concrete or other hard surfaces
  • Perform frequent repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, reaching, and gripping
  • Use hands and fingers to handle small parts, operate tools or controls, and assemble products with precision
  • Visually inspect products for defects, labels, or measurements
  • Distinguish sounds such as machinery alarms, beeps, or spoken instructions in a noisy environment
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear

 

NICE-TO-HAVES

• Post-secondary education or related training and certifications 

• Mastercam experience 

• Ability to program CMM’s 

 

MORE DETAILS YOU'LL WANT TO KNOW

• You’ll be based in our Leesport, PA facility full-time
• Occasional travel (up to 10%) to facilitate identification and containment of issues at vendors, or in our warehouse
• On-the-job training will be provided (we will help you become the Seakeeper expert!)
• This is a second shift position Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
• You will train on first shift Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. for the first 3 – 4 weeks
• You’ll report to the Quality Control Manager, also based in PA

 

YOUR TEAM

Our Quality Technicians are nestled within our Manufacturing Engineering department. It is a small, but mighty team that ties together the sourcing of high-quality parts from reputable vendors to the meticulous manufacturing of Seakeeper units. With cross-department collaboration and interaction with external partners, you’ll gain knowledge across the various areas of the Operations department, so you’ll be able to own your role and bring new ideas to the table to improve processes and results.
