Certified Medical Assistant – Family & Urgent Care 18242 $5K Sign-On Bonus for Eligible New Hires Work location: 751 Hebron Parkway Lewisville TX 75057 Work hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Department Highlights Personal fulfillment (Challenging, yet fulfilling work) Growth opportunities / potential career advancement Opportunity to contribute to patient care Predictable hours (creating a great work‑life balance) Bonus potential Education & Experience H.S. diploma or equivalent (Required) 1 year of medical assistant experience (Preferred) Licenses & Certifications CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (Required) ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Preferred) BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support (Preferred) Skills Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood, and administer injections as needed by assigned clinic Effective communication to staff and patients Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures Strong understanding of medical terminology and abbreviations Sound judgment and composure; ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations Maintains a positive, caring attitude toward patients Good computer skills using a medical management application Strong work ethic and high level of professionalism Responsibilities Under the direction of the health care provider, responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and well‑being of all patients. Accurately performs preliminary physical tests such as measuring blood pressure, recording weight, temperature, pulse and respiration and other measures as directed by established clinical protocols Perform general patient care following established standards and procedures Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problem Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients, prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, and perform routine tests such as EKGs Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and follow up to ensure completion of testing Document patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider Communicate with patients regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the provider Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments; maintain equipment and dispose of contaminated items according to protocol; keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly Escalate non‑routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s) Ensure safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights May work in the front office as needed and perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, senior staff, or requested by healthcare provider(s) Benefits 401k PTO Medical, dental, and other health insurance Paid parental leave Flex spending Tuition reimbursement Student loan forgiveness Delivery of high quality patient care through nursing education, research, and innovations in nursing practice Strong Unit Based Council (UBC) Supportive, team environment with outstanding opportunities for growth #J-18808-Ljbffr
