Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in geospatial technologies, advanced data analysis, and foundational project management experience. This role offers the opportunity to lead the development and implementation of GIS solutions that directly impact strategic business decisions and project outcomes. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership: Lead and support the management of complex GIS projects from initiation through completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope. Advanced Geospatial Analysis: Execute sophisticated spatial analyses, employing industry-standard tools to provide actionable insights and drive decision-making processes. Data Management & Integrity: Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of geospatial databases, ensuring high standards of data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility. Custom Solutions Development: Develop and optimize custom GIS tools and workflows using scripting languages (e.g., Python) to streamline and automate processes. Cartographic Design: Produce high-quality, aesthetically pleasing maps, charts, and geospatial visualizations tailored to meet specific project and client needs. Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to gather requirements, share knowledge, and foster a collaborative environment. Provide technical support and mentorship to junior staff. Technical Innovation: Stay at the forefront of GIS and AI advancements, exploring new technologies to enhance our solutions and services. Client Support: Offer technical expertise and consultation to clients, ensuring they are fully supported and informed throughout project lifecycles. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field. Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience in GIS, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects. Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related geospatial technologies. Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages to automate GIS workflows. Expertise in geospatial data formats, projections, and coordinate systems. Experience with cloud-based GIS platforms, web mapping, and mobile GIS technologies. Preferred Qualifications GISP (GIS Professional) certification. Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, cloud-based GIS systems, and large-scale geospatial architectures. Familiarity with AI integration in geospatial solutions is a plus. Soft Skills Strong leadership and project management capabilities. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to dynamic environments.
