Nurse Manager, Infusion Services

The Nurse Manager for Infusion Services is responsible for the planning and coordination of staffing, supplies, and patient care activities for the assigned departments on a 24-hour basis. This role includes oversight of clinical operations and financial performance, ensuring that nursing services maintain high standards of care while effectively managing resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Oversight: Manage the financial performance of assigned departments, establish annual budgets, and identify cost-effective resource utilization.
• Clinical Operations Management: Coordinate the orientation and skill development of new nursing staff, evaluate performance, and adjust staffing assignments based on patient care requirements.
• Policy Development: Revise and implement nursing services and departmental policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with best practices.
• Quality Improvement: Facilitate quality improvement activities to enhance patient care standards, monitor compliance, and identify areas for enhancement.
• Staff Management: Oversee personnel performance evaluations, resolve employee concerns, and ensure compliance with required training and competencies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Implement standards set by regulatory agencies, ensuring adherence to guidelines and coordination with other health care providers.
• Communication: Maintain effective communication with the Chief Nursing Officer and other administrators regarding operational concerns and staff performance.

Education and Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing preferred.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in the state of practice required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
• Oncology or Infusion nursing certification preferred.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of five years of professional nursing experience, with at least two years in a specialty unit.
• At least one year in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong understanding of nursing care practices, principles, and regulatory standards.
• Proficient in computer systems and EHR usage.
• Excellent communication skills, with strong decision-making and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to anticipate departmental needs and implement effective solutions.
• Capable of maintaining interpersonal relationships with a diverse range of individuals.
