Title : Assistant Director, Communications & Marketing

Search Status : Direct-Hire / Permanent

Schedule : Full Time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00 or 8:00 to 4:00

Hybrid Status : Hybrid- 3 days per week onsite

Compensation : $80,000 to $100,000 base salary and a comprehensive benefits package

Office Location : Seattle, WA

POSITION SUMMARY

You will be given autonomy to lead client engagements from beginning to end, including running meetings and workshops, managing budgets, directing work across creative, digital, media, and events, and setting the benchmarks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Leadership

• Serve in a key role as a project manager for assigned clients, building trusted relationships with program leads and agency stakeholders
• Plan and lead client meetings, kickoffs, and strategy sessions
• Design and facilitate workshops with clients, partners, and community stakeholders, from message development to audience planning
• Present recommendations, progress, and results to clients and internal leadership

Project & Account Management

• Own workplans, timelines for various communications projects across multiple accounts
• Build and own marketing campaigns for clients, including messaging frameworks, audience segmentation, and testing strategy
• Manage projects end to end, from scoping and kickoff through delivery and close-out
• Support event communications and on-site outreach at conferences, workshops, and stakeholder events

Communications Strategy & Content

• Develop communications and PR plans, including messaging frameworks, audience strategy, and channel mix
• Write and review content for social, web, email, and print, translating technical and policy information for expert and general audiences
• Help write proposals, capabilities statements, and business development materials

Goals & Measurement

• Lead goal-setting at the start of each project: define benchmarks and KPIs with clients and the team
• Track progress with digital and analytics staff and turn results into clear recommendations

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years in public relations or strategic communications, including agency or consulting experience
• Experience as an account manager, communications manager, or in a similar client-facing lead role
• Confidence leading meetings and facilitating workshops with clients, partners, and senior stakeholders
• Strong project management skills and a track record of juggling multiple clients, budgets, and deadlines
• Experience setting campaign goals and KPIs and reporting results to clients
• Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills
• Comfortable in Microsoft Office and Adobe products
• Experience with public sector, nonprofit, or public health clients is a plus
• Organized, proactive, and good in a small team where you'll wear more than one hat

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

The Assistant Director is expected to travel two to three times per quarter.
