Avionics Technician II

As an Avionics Technician II, you will independently install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems. You will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and maintain detailed records of your work. Responsibilities Perform installation and maintenance of avionics equipment independently. Troubleshoot and repair avionics systems. Conduct detailed testing of avionics components. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with FCC, FAA, and company regulations. Assist in training junior technicians. Maintain tools, equipment, and manuals in good condition. Qualifications You Must Have High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years of relevant experience. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. Proficiency in electronic principles and troubleshooting techniques. Ability to understand applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings. Basic skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation. Experience with soldering and crimping techniques. Must have own tools in good working order. Qualifications We Prefer Associate’s degree in Avionics, Electronics, or a related field. Advanced soldering skills and knowledge of electronic test equipment. Ability to read and interpret advanced technical manuals and schematics. Familiarity with FCC and FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL). Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or pitot static equipment. Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military. Essential Functions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift. Hand and finger dexterity to work with small mechanical components and tools. Ability to work in a noisy environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials. Ability to travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice. Ability to work in a combination of office and field environments. Ability to read detailed technical manuals, schematics, and computer screens. Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems accurately. Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments, such as industrial sites or construction areas. Ability to detect auditory signals from machinery or equipment, which may indicate issues. Ability to navigate various work environments, including climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and working at heights. Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for frequent travel to customer locations. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, including repairs, installations, and maintenance. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols. Strong awareness of safety protocols and ability to adhere to safety guidelines in potentially hazardous environments. Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards. Estimated Starting Salary Range: $26.39 - $36.29. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
