As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with diverse needs. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for participants in various settings, including senior care facilities, nursing homes, and home community care environments. You will assist clients with daily living activities while promoting their independence and dignity.

Duties
- Provide personal care assistance to participants, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during heavy lifting when necessary.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as required.
- Engage participants in social activities and recreational programs to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and document changes in participants' conditions or behaviors, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Uphold participant rights by ensuring privacy and dignity at all times.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall quality of life for clients.
- Assist with medication reminders as needed and follow care plans established by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for participants.

Requirements
- Previous experience in senior care, patient care, long-term care, or home care is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
- Ability to assist with physical mobility tasks.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with participants, families, and team members.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Understanding of participant rights and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are advantageous.
