Full-Time Diesel Technician/Mechanic

DATTCO is now New England's largest private passenger transportation company. Our Coach & Tour Group operates 200 vehicles and drives 6 million miles annually.

DATTCO currently has a full-time Diesel Technician/Mechanic opening at our Coach and Tour Fleet Maintenance location in New Britain, CT.

Hourly Rate: $25.00$30/hr

Additional Rate(s): overtime opportunities and ASE bonus offers.

Schedule: 7am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday

Scheduled days off: Saturday + Sunday.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and service inspections on a variety of vehicles.
• Performs diagnostic and repair work on all types of vehicles.
• Completes required paperwork in regards to repair orders and parts usage.
• Makes road calls - this may require travel.
• Owns and maintains the proper hand tools to perform job functions.
• Follow orders of the shop foreman or other supervisor.

Requirements:

Education:

• High school diploma, trade school or equivalent.

Experience:

• 3+ years training or experience in the field of automotive, truck or bus repair.
• Dealership experience preferred.
• Valid CT driver's license.
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Hold or be eligible to obtain a CDL license.
• Hold or be willing to work toward ASE certifications.

Skills:

• Adequate English verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be a self-starter.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, twist, stand, walk, and work in and around vehicles for extended periods.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely.
