CustodianAn internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Custodian for San Angelo Corps located in San Angelo, TXJob SummaryProvides a variety of cleaning duties and maintains the building to ensure the upkeep, neatness, and cleanliness of the same on a daily basis.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of effective cleaning and sanitizing practices, general building and grounds maintenance practices and procedures including proper safety precautions. Ability to perform routine cleaning duties and maintenance activities of buildings and grounds. Ability to follow instructions and work independently.Education and ExperienceNo formal education required, and six months experience performing general janitorial and general maintenance duties; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Certifications:None.Physical Requirements/Working ConditionsAbility to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform the needed janitorial and maintenance work. Duties are performed standing and requires squatting, climbing, bending, and walking. Any of the preceding duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting. Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.).Working Conditions:Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to dirt, dust, disagreeable sights and/or odors, and various temperatures.Additional Comments: All employees recognize The Salvation Army is a church and agree that they will do nothing as an employee of The Salvation Army to undermine its religious mission.
