Software Engineer

Job Overview Software Engineer – Onsite – Torrance, CA Responsibilities Design and implement software for test applications for both electrical and mechanical systems. Perform systems and software integration and verification activities using real and simulated hardware. Define and implement software requirements, perform system integration, execute verification testing, and maintain support of the software in the target environment while controlling project costs and schedule. Design and implement software that performs data acquisition and control for automated test equipment. Have knowledge of various computer interfaces, including hardware drivers. Stay up‑to‑date on advances in technology and processes for continuous improvement of accuracy, reliability, and cost. Develop maintainable software interfaces to electrical and mechanical systems. Domestic travel may be required as needed (up to 5%). Qualifications 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience. Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline (preferred Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science) or Master’s Degree in Engineering with software development and verification work experience. Experience in Python programming. Position requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information. Open to earlier career candidates with relevant internships, some industry experience, and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Position may require obtaining a U.S. government security clearance; clearance requires U.S. citizenship. Programming experience in Python, dSPACE, Simulink, or LabVIEW. Experience in the aerospace/defense industry. Demonstrated ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization and work with external constituencies. Demonstrated ability to understand and convey complex regulations/procedures. Experience in a test/development lab environment. Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge in a hands‑on environment. Salary Salary Range: $85,000.00–$135,000.00 annually (Torrance, CA).
