Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mortgage Loan Officer role based in Boyds, MD. The Mortgage Loan Officer will guide borrowers through the mortgage process from initial inquiry to closing, including assessing financial profiles, explaining loan options, and recommending suitable products. Daily responsibilities include originating and structuring mortgage applications, gathering and reviewing documentation, coordinating with processors and underwriters, and ensuring compliance with lending regulations and company policies. The role involves building and managing a pipeline of clients through referrals, networking, and use of Loan Factory's proprietary platform, while maintaining clear communication and timely follow-up with borrowers and partners. The Mortgage Loan Officer is expected to deliver high-quality customer service, meet production goals, and contribute to a collaborative, performance-driven culture. Qualifications Experience as a Loan Officer or in a closely related role, with a strong understanding of borrower needs and sales pipelines. Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry, including current regulations, market trends, and a variety of mortgage products. Hands-on experience in Mortgage Lending, including loan origination, processing coordination, and closing procedures. Familiarity with Underwriting principles, risk assessment, and documentation requirements to support accurate loan decisions. Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and resolve issues effectively. Proficiency with digital mortgage platforms, LOS/POS systems, and basic CRM tools; comfort with technology-driven workflows. Solid analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines. Relevant state licensing as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) or the ability to obtain required licenses prior to start. High school diploma required; college degree in finance, business, or a related field is beneficial.
