Site: Nantucket Cottage Hospital Job Summary Join Nantucket Cottage Hospital as a Clinical Nursing Supervisor and help lead exceptional patient care across all units. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee patient flow, support nursing staff, respond to emergencies, and ensure seamless coordination throughout the hospital. You’ll apply strong clinical judgment and leadership skills to guide teams, manage capacity, and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and patient experience. Essential Functions Supervise patient care through verification of the nursing process according to established nursing practices and patient care standards and provide direction and guidance to facilitate the nursing process. Ensure appropriate intervention in all situations, e.g., deterioration of patient condition, disruptive behavior, equipment malfunctions. Serve as off‑shift patient care representative, listen to patient or family issues, document, and investigate as required. Conduct rounds of all patient care areas and define expectations for accurate reporting with emphasis on high‑acuity patients. Collaborate throughout off‑shift with support services, emergency, admitting, and clinical services to coordinate clinical patient care or environmental needs. Follow through to ensure patient’s needs and environmental/safety issues are resolved. Qualifications Education: Required Associate’s Degree Nursing; Preferred Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Nursing. Licenses and Credentials: Massachusetts RN License; BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. Experience: 5–7 years clinical nursing experience; 2–3 years lead nursing experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills; highly developed communication and interpersonal skills working with a broad patient population; ability to anticipate challenges and implement strategies; collaborative and independent work capabilities; strong leadership for guidance, mentorship, and education.
