Entry‑Level Accountant Location: Hillsboro, KS. Company : Flint Hills Industries, Inc. Essential Functions Demonstrate and promote the company’s core values. Manage accounts receivable functions. Accurate processing of all customer invoices, credit memos, and proforma invoices. Create deposits, answer customer billing questions, review accounts receivable aging report, and generate customer statements. Manage accounts payable functions. Code and enter non‑PO invoices, process weekly accounts payable payments, ensuring payment within terms. Maintain vendor accounts, investigate any vendor billing issues and review vendor statements. Review and enter new customer and vendor information. Maintain the general ledger. Post transactions to the general ledger and ensure accuracy of account balances. Assist with month‑end closing processes and preparation of monthly/yearly financial statements and reports. Assist with year‑end audits. Perform projects, reporting and account reconciliations, and other duties as needed to support the team. Qualifications Education/Certification : Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance or accounting and/or minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting or finance. Required Knowledge : Knowledge in general financial accounting and cost accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity. Skills/Abilities : Experience with financial analysis and reporting. Knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel functions. Strong knowledge of GAAP preferred. Physical Requirements Communicate effectively and clearly. Read, analyze, and interpret documents. Able to hear average conversations. The employee is regularly required to sit and stand throughout the day, spend time typing on keyboards, prepare reports, and communicate via email. Use hands and fingers to type, use a calculator, document handling, and writing. The employee will spend long periods looking at screens and reading fine print and analyzing detailed financial documents.
