Eureka CUSD 140 has an opening for a full-time Director of Technology. The Director of Technology provides leadership, management, and oversight of the district's technology operations, infrastructure, information systems, cybersecurity, instructional technology, and technology support services.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in K-12 technology leadership; demonstrated expertise in network administration, cybersecurity, problem-solving, and staff leadership. Degree in a related field.

Salary & Benefits The 12-month, full-time, in-person position has a salary range of $80,000 - $110,000. The benefit package includes comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance as well as sick, vacation, and personal days.

Performance Responsibilities

1. District Technology Guidance & Operations

• Oversee and guide the district in all aspects of technology.
• Ensure all actions conform to Board policies, Illinois/Federal laws, and the mission and strategic plan of the Board of Education.
• Write, update, and implement the District's Technology Plan, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Ensure effective delivery of technology services supporting teaching, learning, business operations, and communications.

2. Infrastructure, Network Administration, & Maintenance

• Proactively maintain and update all district network systems, including routers, switches, network operating systems, data backups, servers, VoIP Systems, and wireless network infrastructure.
• Maintain all computer equipment in optimal working condition; establish and execute a preventative maintenance schedule.
• Develop and maintain electronic and hard-copy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), diagrams, and maps for all network systems.
• Analyze load, network traffic, and utilization trends to make technical recommendations.
• Review all J.U.L.I.E. notifications and flag physical fiber locations as necessary.

3. Security, Disaster Recovery, & Confidentiality

• Formulate and enforce security procedures to safeguard hardware, systems, and data from physical harm, viruses, and unauthorized access.
• Develop and maintain data backup and disaster recovery plans to guarantee the safety of network data in case of failure or disaster.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding student data, Board of Education data, administrative files, and collective bargaining policies.
• Lead training for staff members to mitigate security risks.
• Maintain simulated cybersecurity risks, such as email phishing tests, and training for staff on a regular basis.

4. Budgeting, Purchasing, & Grant Funding

• Collaborate with District administrators to identify network needs and provide recommendations for technology planning and budgeting.
• Manage the overall technology budget used for purchasing hardware, software, and services.
• Guide responsible purchasing and maintain clear records for accountability and auditing.
• Guide technology grant opportunities, including managing the E-Rate funding application and compliance.

5. Instructional Technology & Training

• Oversee staff training on technology use and coordinate documentation for effective implementation.
• Coordinate instruction to encourage the integration of technology into the school curriculum.
• Train support staff and users on Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS) software.
• Foster an environment that encourages creative and independent use of instructional technology.

6. Data Management & Web Services

• Guide standardization of data entry for the Student Information System (SIS), data warehouse, and district databases.
• Ensure accurate submission and extraction of data for district, state, and federal reporting.
• Work with faculty and staff to build useful, relevant data reports and keep data management software updated.
• Guide the creation, management, and timely maintenance of district and building web pages.

7. Personnel Supervision & Vendor Management

• Supervise, delegate tasks to, and evaluate all technology department staff.
• Assist building principals with the supervision and evaluation of building technology personnel.
• Coordinate and oversee the activities of outside vendors, consultants, and technical trainers.

8. Perform other technology services and duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
