Registered Charge Nurse-DC JAIL-Part-Time (Night Shift) Weekend Location: Washington, DC, US. Salary Range: $45.60 – $51.00 per hour. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides nursing services at the Central Detention Facility (CDF), the Central Treatment Facility (CTF), or as otherwise directed by UHC. Serves as the Charge Nurse to UHC at CDF or CTF, participating in the management and development of nursing personnel and promoting continuity of nursing services within CDF or CTF under the director of the Assistant Director of Nursing. In the absence of the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing, functions as the senior nursing administrative personnel on site as well as off shifts, including weekends. Supports the standards of nursing as defined by the DC Board of Nursing. Assists with the evaluation of the nursing staff, including full completion of staff performance evaluations. Serves as a resource and provides input for the Assistant Director of Nursing on matters concerning day, evening, night, and weekend shifts regarding clinical and administrative matters. Supports the application of research and quality improvement findings to clinical and management practices. Chairs the nursing QI Committee and appoints co-chairs to the sub-committees, whose purpose is to monitor nursing practices through regularly scheduled audits. Serves as the principal administrator of the methadone clinic / Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) (CDF). Initiates and holds monthly clinical staff meetings to address sick call, medication administration, mental health nursing, wound care, and chronic care nursing, assisting in ensuring best practices according to clinical nursing and National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards. Assists with preparation for NCCHC, ACA, and other regulatory audits. Assists with the coordination of preceptorship of new hires. Creates daily staffing schedule/assignment to include holidays and weekends. Conducts rounds in all clinical areas of the health center on each shift to ensure clinical practices and policies are being adhered. Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 5 years of experience in acute care (e.g., ED, ICU, Med/Surg) and/or ambulatory care, with at least two (2) years of nursing experience as a Charge Nurse. #J-18808-Ljbffr
